How good is this GPS on the Garmin ForeRunner 205?

I have one and I love it, it is fairly accurate. it has never been off more thanan a 10th of a mile a mile I run a 6 mile remeasured trail and it measures it from 5.95-6.0. they only time it does not is when it loses the signal which is rare. I run under trees and power line. try it you can always return it. I bought mine through www.roadrunnersports.com and they are good about returns if they are within 30 days. I used Timex and returned tow of them they kept losing signal and I run the same routes pretty muchA friend has a 101 that he uses on bike rides and runs and the only problem he has with it is batteries going out at bad times.

I just recently bought a 301 and, so far, haven't had any trouble with it. It takes 30 seconds to a minute for the GPS signals to lock in once I get outside, but so far it has stayed locked in - even on cloudy days. So far, when I run the same routes it measures the exact same distance to the hundreth of a mile. I was impressed.

I believe the 200 and 300 series both have an internal rechargeable lithium ion battery that holds about a 13 hour charge and it tells you how much time it has left when you turn it on. That's more convenient to me than having the replace the batteries - but I'm not sure how often that is on the 101. I just know my buddy has had to stop as gas stations on several of our rides to buy batteries because he didn't want to miss out on any training data.the new forerunner series such as the 205 uses a new Sirf receiver which is a more sensitive receiver. If you were having problems with the 101 under tree canopy and such, the 205 should be much better
