More details about the model of the GPS would help.You did not say the specific model, so it is impossible for anyone to answer for certain. However, for most GPS units, it is nothing more than a USB connection. It may be a proprietary mount on the GPS side but the cable end that plugs into a PC or MAC for updates is nothing more than a USB. At least this is the way it is with our two GPS units.

Read page 1 of the owner's manual. It is a mini USB on the GPS side and a regular USB on the computer side. If you did not get this cable or you need to buy another, you can buy these cables at Best Buy or nearly anyplace selling electronics.
